Uinta County is located in the southwestern tip of Wyoming. The county seat is Evanston. The county was formed by the legislature of the Wyoming Territory in 1869 and named after the Uinta Mountains in Utah. The county’s total area measures 2,008 square miles. Based on the 2016 census, there are 20,773 people living in the area. The adjacent counties are Lincoln County in the north, Sweetwater County in the east, Summit County (UT) in the south, and Rich County (UT) in the west. Uinta County Officials Information
The County Clerk is responsible for administering liquor license applications and records, administering an adopted budget, maintaining records of county-wide elections, preparing agendas for meetings of the County Board Commissioners, recording and indexing minutes of the meetings as well as resolutions and agreements, and maintaining a record of the county’s special districts. In addition, the Clerk’s office serves as the Accounting Office and Personnel Office of the County. Other duties of the Clerk include maintaining a record of land transactions, subdivisions, mineral leases, and mining claims as well as issuing marriage licenses.
