Lincoln County is located in the northwestern region of Wyoming. The county seat is Kemmerer. The county was created in 1911 from a portion of Uinta County and later organized in 1913. The county was named in honor of the 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln. The county’s total area measures 4,095 square miles with an estimated population of 19,265 (2017). The adjacent counties are Teton County in the north, Sublette County in the northeast, Sweetwater County in the southeast, Uinta County in the south, Rich County (UT) in the southwest, Bear Lake and Caribou Counties (ID) in the west, and Bonneville County (ID) in the northwest.
