Goshen County is located in the southeastern region of Wyoming. The county seat is Torrington. The county was formed in 1911 from a portion of Laramie County and later organized in 1913. It was named after the Goshen Hole which is a valley located in the southwestern region of the county. The total area of the county measures 2,232 square miles. Based on the 2016 census, there are 13,390 people living in the county. The adjacent counties are Niobrara County in the north, Sioux County (NE) in the northeast, Scotts Bluff County (NE) in the east, Banner County (NE) in the southeast, Laramie County in the south, and Platte County in the west.
