Sullivan County is located in the state of Tennessee. Named after General John Sullivan, the county was formed in 1779 and its county seat is Blountville. The county has a total population of 156,823, as of 2010, with its area spanning 430 square miles (land area being 413 square miles, while water area being 16 square miles). Sullivan County Clerk Information

The County Clerk is a constitutional officer and is elected by the people for a term of four years. Duties of the office range from being secretary to the County Commission, taking and maintaining the official minutes which are available for public viewing, to conducting a great deal of the State’s taxation duties within the County. The Clerk also serves as a member of the County Records Commission. Other duties relating to licenses including issuing vehicle registrations, boat registrations, marriage license, business license, as well as game and fish license. Circuit Court Clerk

The Circuit Court Clerk of Sullivan County maintains a Circuit, Law, General Sessions and Juvenile Court system.
