Montgomery County is located in the state of Tennessee. The county was formed in 1796 and named after John Montgomery. The county seat is Clarksville. As of 2010, the county has a population of 172,331. The county has a total area of 544 square miles, 539 square miles of which is land, and 4.7 square miles is water. Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds is a constitutional office established by the Tennessee state legislature as the custodian of legal documents pertaining to real property.
