The Clerk of Judicial Records is the custodian of the documents for the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas. The Clerk’s office has three divisions: the Civil Division; the Criminal Division, and the Family Court Division.

The Civil Division maintains liens, judgments, and Civil and Equity files. It collects the filing fees, time-stamps, issues receipts, proofreads indexes, certifies court seals, exemplifies, notifies, copies, and communicates by mail or phone the legally mandated information.

The Criminal Division has the same duties as the Clerk of Courts. The Civil Division, using a state-wide system is responsible for all the upgrades and changes in terms of legal, technical, and economic constraints.
