The County Recorder is an elected official of Nelson County. In Nelson County, the Recorder also serves as ex-officio clerk of the district court. Some of the primary administrative duties of the County Recorder are receiving, time stamping, and filing the many documents presented for recording. The duties of the Recorder include:
- Recording legal documents pertaining to real estate according to North Dakota statutes.
