Logan County is located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. The county was formed in 1873 and named after Illinois U.S. Senator John A. Logan (1826–1886). The county seat is Napoleon. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2016, the county has a population of approximately 1,941 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,011 square miles of which 933 square miles is land and 1.8 square miles is water. Logan County borders the following counties: Stutsman County to the northeast; LaMoure County to the east; McIntosh County to the south; Emmons County to the west; Kidder County to the northwest.Logan County has seven zip codes.
