Sandoval County is located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The county was formed in 1903 and named after the Sandoval family, the prominent seventeenth-century Spanish landowners. The county seat is Bernalillo. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2016, the county has a population of approximately 142,025 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,716 square miles of which 3,711 square miles is land and 5.3 square miles is water. Sandoval County borders the following counties: Rio Arriba County to the north; Los Alamos County to the northeast; Santa Fe County to the east; Bernalillo County to the south; Cibola County to the southwest; McKinley County to the west and San Juan County to the northwest. Sandoval County Clerk’s Office Information

The County Clerk maintains and provides copies of legal documents involving Sandoval County and real property within the County. The Office maintains the County’s Bureau of Elections. The Bureau of Elections is responsible for conducting all federal, state and county elections.
