Curry County is located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The county was formed in 1909 and named after George Curry, a governor of New Mexico Territory from 1907 to 1910. The county seat is Clovis. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2016, the county has a population of approximately 50,280 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,408 square miles of which 1,405 square miles is land and 3.2 square miles is water. Curry County borders the following counties: Quay County to the northwest; Roosevelt County to the southwest; Bailey County, Texas to the southeast; Parmer County, Texas to the east and Deaf Smith County, Texas to the northeast. Curry County Clerk’s Office Information

The County Clerk is an elected official of Curry County. The County Clerk acts as ex-officio clerk of the County Probate Court as well as ex-officio clerk to the Curry County Board of Commissioners. Some of the responsibilities of the office include: handling voter registration and election administration; creating and maintaining minutes of the board for permanent record; recording, filing and preserving all types of documents submitted for public and permanent record, i.e. deeds, mortgages, agreements, etc.; and issuing marriage licenses and maintaining database for permanent record.
