Yellowstone County is located in the U.S. state of Montana. The county was formed in 1893 and named after The Yellowstone River, named in turn for the yellow rocks found along its shores. The county seat is Billings. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2018, the county has a population of approximately 158,980 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,649 square miles of which 2,633 square miles is land and 16 square miles is water. Yellowstone County borders the following counties: Musselshell County to the north; Rosebud County to the northeast; Treasure County to the east; Big Horn County to the southeast; Carbon County to the southwest; Stillwater County to the west and Golden Valley County to the northwest. The Clerk of the District Court is an elected position with a four-year term. The Clerk of District Courts is the custodian of the District Court records. The Clerk of District Court is responsible for filing and maintenance of legal records related to:

- Estates, guardianships, and conservatorships
