Meeker County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1856 and named after Bradley B. Meeker, the Associate Justice of the Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court (1849–1853). The county seat is Litchfield. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 23,119 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 645 square miles of which 608 square miles is land and 37 square miles is water. Meeker County borders the following counties: Stearns County to the north; Wright County to the east; McLeod County to the southeast; Renville County to the southwest and Kandiyohi County to the west.     I’m confused about what kind of records I can find here. I want to find more about my great-grandparents and grandparents who lived in the Collinwood, Lamson area after arriving from Sweden in approx. 1880. I also would like to find birth records for my mother and her siblings, this ranged from 1906-1922. Generally more about the Lamson area as I understand there were businesses located there. I’ve looked at a plat record from 1907, but would like to see if there’s an earlier version available.
