Meeker County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1856 and named after Bradley B. Meeker, the Associate Justice of the Minnesota Territorial Supreme Court (1849–1853). The county seat is Litchfield. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 23,119 people. Meeker County Recorder’s Office acts as the caretaker of all records of the county pertaining to land titles and transfers. I’m confused about what kind of records I can find here. I want to find more about my great-grandparents and grandparents who lived in the Collinwood, Lamson area after arriving from Sweden in approx. 1880. I also would like to find birth records for my mother and her siblings, this ranged from 1906-1922. Generally more about the Lamson area as I understand there were businesses located there. I’ve looked at a plat record from 1907, but would like to see if there’s an earlier version available.
