Ford County is located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in February 26, 1867 and named after Colonel James Hobart Ford. The county seat is Dodge City. As of 2013, the county has a population of 34819. The county has a total area of 1099 square miles, 1098 square miles of which is land, and 0.8 square miles is water. Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds is an elected office. The office affects anyone who has owned or sold property in the county. These copies are preserved in the record room, an area of the office which is open to interested citizens, attorneys, title searchers, historians, and genealogists for their research, reference and study. In addition to deeds, mortgages and equity loans, documents dealing with property transactions including liens, foreclosures, and mortgage cancellations are also on file. The office also records honorable discharges for veterans.

Appraiser

The County Appraiser is an appointed position with the responsibility to discover, list, appraise and maintain records of data relating to all taxable and exempt real and personal property within Ford County.

The appraiser provides a parcel search feature. The public link allows users to view information used by their office to assist in the valuation of real estate. In addition, there is an additional link available to certified appraisers, lenders and real estate agents to view sales data.
