Dade Clerk of Court Information

The Superior Court was established under the Constitution of 1798 and is the highest court in each circuit. It is a court of record which means that all records, documentation, and minutes filed in this office cannot be altered after filing. The Clerk of Superior Court is a Constitutional Officer which means the position was created by an act of the Legislature in the State Constitution. The Clerk is accountable only to the people who elect her. She is not an employee or appointee of any county or state commission or any agent or agency of the judiciary. As an impartial county officer, the Clerk provides some of the most important checks-and-balances needed in both local county government and the state’s judicial system. The Clerk is elected every four years. The Clerk’s duties include running the business arm of the local court system; accounting for all monies arising from fines, fees, court costs and fees required by law for specific services; serves as clerk of the jury commission responsible for trial and grand juries; providing oversight and administrative support to the county board of tax equalization; and protecting and permanently maintaining citizens’ court, land, and other important vital records. The Dade County Superior Court Clerk serves as the official record keeper for the Superior & Juvenile Courts. It is their mission to serve the Judicial System and the citizens of Dade County in a manner best suited to provide quality, efficient, courteous and effective service. Notice Of Appointment To Board Of Tax Equalization

Pursuant to OCGA 15-12-81(b) and OCGA 48-5-311, notice is hereby given that the Grand Jury for the October 2018 Term of the Superior Court of Dade County, Georgia, which will convene on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, will be required to make the following appointments or appointments to the Board of Tax Equalization of Dade County:

One (1) Regular Member and One (1) Alternate Member to be appointed for a term which shall run from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2021. One (1) Alternate Member to be appointed to fulfill a vacancy for a term which shall run from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2020.
