Located near the western border of Ohio, Greene County, was named for General Nathanael Greene, who served in the Revolutionary War. It consists of approximately 416 square miles, 414 of which are land. With approximately 161,573 people as of the 2010 census, this county also contains the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. It is bordered to the north by Clark County, the northeast by Madison County, the east by Fayette County, the south by Clinton County, the southwest by Warren County and the west by Montgomery County. The County Clerk is responsible for filing, preserving and indexing court pleadings that are related to criminal, domestic and civil cases.
