Fayette County, Ohio

Located near the center of the state, Fayette County is named after the Marquis de Lafayette, who served in the American Revolution. With approximately 407 square miles of total area, all but 0.7 square miles of it are land. As of the 2010 census the county had only 29,030 people living in it, which is a slow but steady incline over the past censuses. It is surrounded to the north by Madison County, the northeast by Pickaway County, the southeast by Ross County, the south by Highland County, the southwest by Clinton County and the northwest by Greene County.
