Erie County, Ohio is located on the northern border of Ohio, on the banks of Lake Erie. It consists of a total of 626 square miles, with 252 of that being land and approximately 60% being water. With a population density of 77,079 at the time of the 2010 census, it’s named for the Erie tribe and was formed in 1838. Erie County is bordered to the north by Essex County and Chatham-Kent Municipality, Ontario to the north, Lorain County to the east, Huron County to the South, Sandusky County to the west and Ottawa County to the northwest.
