Becker County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1858 and named after George Loomis Becker, a former state senator and third mayor of Saint Paul (1856–1857). The county seat is Detroit Lakes. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 33,231 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,445 square miles of which 1,315 square miles is land and 130 square miles is water. Becker County Assessor’s Office Information

The Becker County Assessor is appointed by the County Board of Commissioners and approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Revenue. The primary responsibility of the assessor’s office is supervising property assessments of all townships and cities within the county. The property assessments are made by State accredited and certified appraisal staff from the county office and by State certified assessors hired by townships and cities.
