Bordered to the north by Kalkaska County, the east by Roscommon County, the west by Wexford County and the south by Clare and Osceola Counties, it is said to be named after a famous chief. The County Clerk for Missaukee County is responsible for all vital records, including marriage, birth and death records. She is also responsible for personal protection orders, military discharges, voter records, election records, circuit and family court filings, concealed weapons permits and notary public documents. These documents are available by in person request, during normal business hours but are not available online. Some fee schedules and forms are available online, however the documents themselves are not.
