The Huron County Clerk is responsible for all vital records, to include birth and death certificates as well as marriage and divorce licenses. The Clerk is also responsible for assisting with genealogy research, circuit court records, payroll for the building, election results, military discharges, personal protection orders and notary public information, as well as assumed names and passports. This information is available by request in person, during normal business hours, but is not available online.
The Register of Deeds is responsible for land records that include mortgages, liens, leases, releases and deeds. All of these records are considered public record and therefore are available for research, viewing and copying by the general public. Information may be purchased in person or through the assessing & tax search or land records searches available online. There may be a fee required with these documents.

The Equalization Department is responsible for the proper assessment of taxable values related to all property within the county.
