Hamilton County, Iowa had a population of 15,673 as of the 2010 census and was named for William W. Hamilton, who served as president of the Iowa state senate. The county was established in 1856 and its county seat and largest community is Webster City. Hamilton County is a total of 578 square miles and all, but one is land. Neighboring Iowa counties include Wright to the north, Hardin to the east, Story to the southeast, Boone to the southwest, and Webster to the west.
