Gibson County is located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The county was formed in 1813 and named after John Gibson, secretary of the Indiana Territory. The county seat is Princeton. Gibson County Clerk’s Office Information

The Clerk of the Circuit Court or the County Clerk is a constitutional officer elected for a four-year term by the voters of the county. The County Clerk serves as secretary of the county Election Board. The County Clerk also serves as the member and secretary of the County Commission on Public Records.

Main functions of the Clerk include filing, recording, and entering all orders pertaining to civil, juvenile, and criminal cases. The Clerk of the Circuit Court also issues letters of administration, testamentary letters, letters of guardianship; recording wills; inventories of estates, sales bills, inheritance tax orders, final accounts, and reports of distribution in probate proceedings. The County Clerk is also responsible for appointing other members of the County Election Board and the Board of Canvassers.
