Steuben County is located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The county was formed in 1837 and named after Baron Frederick von Steuben, a Prussian-born noble who trained colonial soldiers during the American Revolutionary War. The county seat is Angola. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 34,358 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 322.47 square miles of which 308.94 square miles is land and 13.53 square miles is water. Steuben County borders the following counties: Branch County, Michigan to the north; Hillsdale County, Michigan to the northeast; Williams County, Ohio to the east; DeKalb County to the south; Noble County to the southwest and LaGrange County to the west. Steuben County Clerk’s Office Information

The office of the County Clerk is an elected position and is to serve a four-year term. The duties of the Clerk’s office is registering voters, administering all elections in the county, processes files of individuals wishing to run for public office, administering the oath of office to appointed officers, and issuing certificates to successful candidates of the election. The Clerk also files, records and enters all orders from the civil, juvenile and criminal courts, files small claims, probation, and protective orders;
