The County Clerk is responsible for the following duties:

A Vital Records application form is available for download at the County Clerk and Recorder website. You can pay by credit/debit card for the fees, aside from mailing a check. You must still mail, email or fax the application form and a copy of your I.D. before your request is processed. If sending form and copy of I.D. by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE). To get the birth certificate of a deceased person, another form must be filled up. Only eligible individuals can obtain a certified vital record; you can check who can get these records in the website.
The Recorder’s Office has partnered with Fidlar Technologies to allow searching of land records which they process in their office. A web interface, Tapestry, and a downloadable software, Laredo, are readily available to anyone who would like to access the records. Both requires a paid subscription, with Tapestry also offering a pay-as-you-go access.
