Washington County can be found in the Southeastern Region of Wisconsin. The county seat is West Bend. The county was formed in 1836 from Wisconsin Territory and later organized in 1845. It was named in honor of the 1st US President, George Washington. According to the 2010 census, 131,887 people are living in the 436-square mile area of the county. The counties bordering this area are Fond du Lac County in the north, Sheboygan County in the northeast, Ozaukee County in the east, Waukesha County in the south, and Dodge County in the west.
