Walworth County, Wisconsin Overview

Walworth County is located in the southeastern region of Wisconsin. The county seat is Elkhorn. The county was formed in 1836 from Wisconsin Territory and later organized in 1839. It was named in honor of lawyer and politician Reuben H. Walworth. The county’s total area is 577 square miles with a population of 102,228 (2010). The adjacent counties are Waukesha County in the northeast, Racine County in the east, Kenosha County in the southeast, McHenry County (IL) in the south, Boone County (IL) in the southwest, Rock County in the west, and Jefferson County in the northwest. Walworth County Officials Information
