Price County is located in the northern region of Wisconsin. Phillips serves as the county seat. The county was formed in 1879 by Wisconsin Governor William E. Smith through the signing of a legislation. It was named in honor of William T. Price, a US Representative from Wisconsin. The total area of the county is 1,278 square miles.
