Jackson County can be found in the West Central region of Wisconsin. Its county seat is Black River Falls. The county was created in 1853 from a portion of Crawford County. It was named in honor of the 7th US President, Andrew Jackson. The county’s total area is 1000 square miles with a population of 20,449 (2010). The adjacent counties are Clark County in the north, Wood County in the east, Juneau County in the southeast, Monroe County in the south, La Crosse County in the southwest, Trempealeau County in the west, and Eau Claire County in the northwest.
