Walla Walla County can be found in the southeastern region of Washington. Its county seat is also called Walla Walla. The county was created in 1854 ad named in honor of a Native American tribe, the Walla Walla. According to the 2017 census, there are approximately 60,567 people living in the 1,299-square mile area. The area is bordered by the following counties: Adams County in the north, Whitman County in the northeast, Columbia County in the east, Umatilla County (OR) in the south, Benton County in the west, and Grant County in the northwest.
