It was named after the Pacific Ocean which borders its shores. The county’s total area is 1,223 square miles. Based on the 2017 census, there are around 21,626 people living in this county. The County Clerk is responsible for the safekeeping of all court records in Pacific County. He or she also serves as the administrative and financial officer of the Superior Court. As Clerk of Court, he/she must also attend all hearings and maintain an independent record of all proceedings which are made available to the public. He or she must also collect statutory fees, fines, trust funds, and support funds, maintain a trust account for the monies collected, and disburse the monies as ordered by the court.
