Grant County can be found in the North Central region of Washington. Its county seat is Ephrata. The county was created in 1909 from a portion of Douglas County. It was named in honor of a United States President, Ulysses S. Grant. According to the 2017, there are approximately 95,158 people living in the 2,791-square mile area. The county is bordered in the north by Douglas County, in the northeast by Lincoln County, in the east by Adams County, in the southeast by Franklin County, in the south by Benton County, in the southwest by Yakima County, and in the west by Kittitas County.
