Clarke County Overview

Created in 1836, Clarke County in Virginia had a population of 14,034 as of the 2010 census. The county seat is Berryville, and it is also the largest community. The third smallest county in Virginia, Clarke is 178 square miles in total area, most of which is land. Neighboring counties are Loudoun to the east, Warren to the southwest, Fauquier to the southeast, Frederick to the west and Jefferson County in West Virginia to the north. The Circuit Court is a Court of Record.
