Wise County is located in the state of Texas. Named after Henry Alexander Wise, the county was formed in 1856 and its county seat is Decatur. The county has a total population of 59,127, as of 2010, with its area spanning 923 square miles (land area being 904 square miles, while water area being 18 square miles). Wise County Clerk Information

The Wise County Clerk has permissively accepted e-filings since October 31, 2014. Effective July 1, 2015 it will be mandatory for attorneys to electronically file (E-file) on all Civil and Probate Cases in Wise County, Texas as required by the Texas Supreme Court. Paper filings across the clerk’s counter will no longer be accepted from attorneys at that time.

District Clerk

The District Clerk is charged with maintaining and arranging records deposited in the clerk’s office. The District Clerk:

  • Records the acts and proceedings of the district court
  • Enters all judgments of the court under the direction of the judge
