Tarrant County is located in the state of Texas. The county was formed in 1850 and named after Edward H. Tarrant. The county seat is Fort Worth. As of 2010, the county has a population of 1,809,034. The county has a total area of 902 square miles, 864 square miles of which is land, and 39 square miles is water. The county consists of 74 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 76244 recorded as the one with the largest population. Tarrant County borders the following counties: Denton County, Texas to the north; Johnson County, Texas to the south; Dallas County, Texas to the east; Parker County, Texas to the west; Wise County, Texas to the northwest, and; Ellis County, Texas to the southeast.

District Clerk
