Limestone County is located in the state of Texas. The county was formed in 1846. The county seat is Groesbeck. As of 2010, the county has a population of 23,384. The county has a total area of 933 square miles, 905 square miles of which is land, and 28 square miles is water. Limestone County borders the following counties: Navarro County, Texas to the north; Robertson County, Texas to the south; McLennan County, Texas to the west; Freestone County, Texas to the northeast; Hill County, Texas to the northwest; Falls County, Texas to the southwest, and; Leon County, Texas to the southeast.

Properly qualified applicant must present an acceptable form of ID to obtain a Birth Certificate / Death Certificate. An applicant can be either the registrant, his or her parents, guardian, or the children, spouses, siblings, or grandparents of the registrant. If requesting documents through mail, you will need to send the application for Birth/Death record, photocopy of your ID, notarized proof of identity form and payment.
