Filing fees for instruments are $21 for the first page and $4 for each additional page. A Deed of Trust, which has more than one rider, will have an added fee of $8 per page of each additional rider.

A public site has been created by the office of the clerk where you can search for public records. The site is used to search for documents that have been recorded in the County Clerk’s office in various counties. Users of the site must register to conduct document searches. Registration is free. To register, click the Register link at the top part of the page. As a registered user you will be able to search the index and view summary information about documents. Most counties require a fee to view the image of a document. After you log in, you may purchase images on a “document by document” basis or you may purchase a monthly subscription that allows you to view, download and print unlimited document images from that county. District Clerk

The district clerk receives for filing and processing all documents in a court case and maintains the official court records. The office also issues all processes involved with civil, domestic, and criminal cases in the 355th Judicial District Court and family cases in the County Court at Law. The district clerk is responsible for managing records so that they are easily retrieved for public information, preserved for permanent storage in archives, and disposed of according to law.

The Hood County District Clerk started accepting electronically filed documents on civil and family cases on October 29, 2014. E-filing is currently ‘permissive’ for ‘subsequent’ (not new case) criminal filings as of December 19, 2016. It becomes mandatory for criminal filings in Hood County effective January 1, 2019.
