Brazoria County is located in the state of Texas. The county was formed in 1836 and named after Brazos River. The county seat is Angleton. As of 2013, the county has a population of 2010, 313,166. The county has a total area of 1609 square miles, 1358 square miles of which is land, and 251 square miles is water. The county consists of 16 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 77584 recorded as the one with the largest population. Brazoria County borders the following counties: Harris County, Texas to the north; Wharton County, Texas to the west; Galveston County, Texas to the northeast; Fort Bend County, Texas to the northwest, and; Matagorda County, Texas to the southwest.

The County Clerk has an available property record search. This search, however, is not offered by the employees of the County Clerk’s Office. The clerks of this office are recorders, not qualified examiners of the Official Public Records. You may search at the link below (requires a registration) for the Official Public Records or come to the East Annex at 1524 East Mulberry, Angleton, TX 77515 to use public computers provided for your convenience.
If you need certified copies of property records, once you search the records please take note of the document number and the amount of pages (Costs are $1.00 per page and $5.00 for certification). You will then log on to https://certifiedpayments.net (bureau code: 3433402 is for property records, birth, death, and marriage searches only) and follow the prompts to make payment. In the same website, you will be able to search the Official Public Records for Land Records, Foreclosures, Marriages, Vital Records, Cattle Brands, and others. Images for specific types of records may be purchased on a document by document basis. District Clerk
The District Clerk’s Office is the registrar, recorder, and custodian of all pleadings, instruments, and papers that are part of any cause of action in any District Court of Brazoria County. In addition to judicial responsibilities, the District Clerk indexes and secures all court records, collects filing fees, handles funds held in litigation and monies awarded to minors.
The Brazoria County District Clerk’s office provides Felony Records Search only. The cost to purchase a Felony Records Search is $5 for a 10 year range. An additional $5.00 may be paid for each additional 10 years searched. Submit your payment online to Certified Payments with bureau code 4375276. Please print your receipt or write down the Payment ID number, it will be required when completing your request. After payment has been made, return to this page to complete Web Request below with payment confirmation and search information.
The Brazoria County District Clerk’s Office also provides copies in person, by mail, fax and/or email of District Court records only. For documents in our case management system, copies requested to be returned by email or fax can be sent at no charge. Link is given below for the request. Only one (1) case per request with up to five (5) documents maximum will be accepted. Emailed and faxed copies cannot be certified at this time.
