Bell County is located in the state of Texas. The county was formed in 1850 and named after Peter Hansborough Bell. The county seat is Belton. As of 2010, the county has a population of 310,235. The county has a total area of 1088 square miles, 1051 square miles of which is land, and 37 square miles is water. The county consists of 23 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 76549 recorded as the one with the largest population. Bell County borders the following counties: McLennan County, Texas to the north; Williamson County, Texas to the south; Lampasas County, Texas to the west; Falls County, Texas to the northeast; Coryell County, Texas to the northwest; Burnet County, Texas to the southwest, and; Milam County, Texas to the southeast.

The County Clerk provided a form for requesting a probate record search. It only entails a record search, which will only provides a positive or negative result as to the existence of a case(s). Documentation of the existence of the case will be provided. Instruments associated with a case are available for an additional charge and must be specifically requested. District Clerk

You can request copies of a divorce, civil, or criminal case from the District Clerk. A request form is made available in their website.

The Bell County jury schedule is set on Friday. You will need to call 254-933-5360 at any time over the weekend between 5:00 PM friday and 8:00 AM Monday morning to hear specific instructions as to who should report and where. Depending on the court schedule, you may not need to report at all so please call to be sure. If you have been selected to serve on a jury, the following information may be of assistance.
