Sullivan County is located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The county was formed in 1847 and named after John Sullivan, a Revolutionary War general. The county seat is Laporte. The primary function of the Sullivan County Prothonotary’s Office is to maintain documents relating to civil cases, including judgments that have been filed with Sullivan County. The Prothonotary’s Office also serves as the Clerk of Courts.
The Clerk of Courts is responsible for recording and maintaining documents relating to current and past criminal cases.
