Philadelphia County Office of Judicial Records Information

The Office of Judicial Records serves the Criminal Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Court as well as the Juvenile Division of Family Court. The Office is the custodian of criminal court records and is responsible for recording court decisions and issuance of bench warrants, assessment, receipt and disbursement of bail and all court imposed fines, fees, and restitution, acceptance of court filings manually and electronically, entering civil judgments on bail forfeitures and court imposed fines, fees and restitution, and issuing commitments or discharges for defendants. The Office of Judicial Records also acts as the custodian of juvenile delinquency and dependency court records and handles all matters related to court cases, including sending subpoenas to witnesses and notifying attorneys of case dates and activities.

Philadelphia County Document Recording Office Information

The Document Recording Division is responsible for recording and/or filing any legal instrument pertinent to the title to real estate in the City of Philadelphia and various other matters. These legal instruments or documents include but not limited to notary commissions, Uniform Commercial Code, police commissions, judge’s commissions and oaths, military discharges, and charters for corporations doing business in Philadelphia.
The Document Recording Division also controls the title registration for the Board of Revision of Taxes and other city agencies, accepts changes in registry ownership, and maintains the city’s official parcel base maps. As this division acts as the central contact for many public records, it accepts applications for police record checks, good conduct letters, and various other police and emergency response reports. The Document Recording Division also collects transfer taxes and various services fees related to the recording of real estate documents and the sale of records to the public.

Most records, except for military discharges, are public information and can be accessed online. Access is provided by subscription for time periods of one day, one week, one month or one year. You may subscribe online by credit card.
