Union County, Oregon Overview

Union County can be found in the northeast region of Oregon. La Grande serves as county seat. The county was created in 1864 form a portion of Wasco County and named for the town of Union which, in turn, was named in honor of the Union states of the American Civil War. According to the 2016 survey, the county has approximately 26,087 people living in its 2,039-square mile area. Union County is bordered in the north and east by Wallowa County, in the west by Umatilla County, and in the south by Grant and Baker Counties. Union County Officials Information

The County Clerk in Union County is tasked with the recording and filing of all public records such as County Commissioners’ minutes, resolutions, and orders as well as property transactions such as deeds, mortgages, and assignments.
