Polk County can be found in the northwestern region of Oregon. Dallas is the county seat. The county was founded in 1845 and named in honor of the 11th US President, James Knox Polk. Polk County is bordered in the north by Yamhill County, in the east by Marion County, in the southeast by Linn County, in the south by Benton County, in the west by Lincoln County, and the northwest by Lincoln County.
