Jefferson County can be found in Central Oregon. It was established in 1914 by getting a portion of Crook County. The county’s name comes from Mount Jefferson which is located along its boundary line. The county seat is Madras.
Jefferson County has approximately 23,080 residents in its 1,791 square mile area, based on the 2016 survey. The county is bordered in the north by Wasco County, in the northeast by Wheeler County, in the southeast by Crook County, in the south by Deschutes County, and in the west by Marion County and Linn County. The County Clerk is the official custodian of public records for Jefferson County. He or she maintains the official records for all real property transactions in the county as well as records of commissioners’ meetings, ordinances, resolutions, and other miscellaneous documents. The County Clerk, as chief elections official, is responsible for conducting elections and voter registration. As the Board Clerk for the Board of Property Tax Appeals, the County Clerk prepares and records BOPTA hearings. Jefferson County Clerk

The Jefferson County Assessor is responsible for appraising and assessing the value and property taxes of all property located within the county. The office is also responsible for handling special tax programs such as deferrals for senior citizens and exemptions for active duty military personnel. Jefferson Court Records Information

Any court records that are not considered confidential or sealed can be accessed by the public.
