Located near the southern border of Ohio, Jackson County is named for Andrew Jackson while he was a war hero from the War of 1812. Known as ‘The Little Wales of Ohio,’ Jackson County had 33,225 people during the 2010 census. It consists of 422 total square miles, 420 of which are land. The county is also bordered to the north by Vinton County, the east by Gallia County, the south by Lawrence County, the southwest by Scioto County, the west by Pike County and the northwest by Ross County. The County Clerk for Jackson County is responsible for court records including fines and fees as well as passport applications and automobile titles.
