Named for a Colonel William Crawford of the American Revolution, the county consists of approximately 403 square miles, 402 of which are land. It is bordered to the north by Seneca County, the northeast by Huron County, the east by Richland County, the southeast by Morrow County, the southwest by Marion County and the west by Wyandot County.
