Located on the eastern border of Ohio, Belmont County is comprised of 541 square miles, with 532 of those being land. As of the 2010 census it had approximately 70,400 people and is currently surrounded to the north by Harrison County, the northeast by Jefferson County, the east by Ohio County, West Virginia, the southeast by Marshall County, West Virginia, the south by Monroe County, the southwest by Noble County and the west by Guernsey County.
