Catron County is located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. The county was formed in 1921 and named after Thomas Benton Catron, a Santa Fe attorney and New Mexico’s first U.S. Senator. The county seat is Reserve. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2016, the county has a population of approximately 3,508 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 6,929 square miles of which 6,924 square miles is land and 5.5 square miles is water. Catron County borders the following counties: Cibola County to the north; Socorro County to the east; Sierra County to the southeast; Grant County to the south; Greenlee County, Arizona to the west and Apache County, Arizona to the west. The County Clerk is an elected county official. The primary responsibilities of the office include:

• Handling voter registration and election administration.
