Mineral County is located in the U.S. state of Nevada. The county was formed in 1911 and named after Mineral deposits in the area. The county seat is Hawthorne. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2010, the county has a population of approximately 4,772 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,813 square miles of which 3,753 square miles is land and 60 square miles is water. Mineral County borders the following counties: Lyon County to the northwest; Churchill County to the north; Nye County to the northeast; Esmeralda County to the southeast and Mono County, California to the southwest. The primary function of the Assessor’s Office is to locate and appraise all taxable property within Mineral County. Assessed values are then provided for each property. Mineral County Recorder and Auditor’s Office Information

The Recorder is responsible for recording various public records, preservation of records and providing public access to these records. These records date back to the establishment of Mineral County in 1911. All records are indexed by the names of the principal parties for any document or “grantee/grantor”.

To locate a document, you will need the name of at least one party. The official records index system is available online dating back to January 1985. The Recorder’s Office also has bound copies of the Mineral County Independent News dating back to the 1930’s and the Walker Lake Bulletin dating back to 1911 for research purposes.
