White Pine County is located in the U.S. state of Nevada. The county was formed in 1869 and named after Heavy growth of pine trees in the area. The county seat is Ely. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2010, the county has a population of approximately 10,030 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 8,897 square miles of which 8,876 square miles is land and 21 square miles is water. White Pine County borders the following counties: Elko County to the north; Tooele County, Utah to the northeast/Mountain Time Border; Juab County, Utah to the east/Mountain Time Border; Millard County, Utah to the southeast/Mountain Time Border; Lincoln County to the south; Nye County to the southwest and Eureka County to the west. It is the primary function of the Assessor’s Office to locate and appraise all taxable (real and personal) property within the boundaries of White Pine County and provide assessed values for each. Every property will be assessed at least one time within a five-year cycle as there are five reappraisal areas within our county.

White Pine County Clerk’s Office Information

The county clerk is an elected official of White Pine County for a four-year term. As registrar of voters and elections, the clerk is responsible for ensuring voter rolls are up to date and that elections are administered according to federal and state election laws.

The Clerk also serves as Ex-Officio Clerk for the following White Pine County boards:

  • Board of Commissioners – charged with the fiscal responsibility of the county.
  • White Pine Fire District – charged with the responsibility of fire protection and some emergency services.
