Valley County, Nebraska Overview
Valley County can be found in the north central region of Nebraska. Ord is the county seat. The county was created in 1871 and organized in 1873. Its name comes from the fact that most of the county is a valley located between the North and Middle Loup Rivers. Based on the 2010 census, the county’s total area is 570 square miles with a population of 4,260. Valley County Officials Information
The County Clerk serves as secretary to the County Board of Commissioners as well as the County Board of Equalization. The Clerk also serves as bookkeeper of the County, handling county payroll and accounts payable.
